BOB CARLIN
 
Bob Carlin, who toured for 6 years with John Hartford, has performed and taught internationally for over 30 years. He is a banjo historian with many recordings and numerous instruction books and videos to his credit.

Bob's classes are:
-"Banjo Set-Up 101" (9 - 10:30 AM) Make your banjo sound how you want it to sound.
-"Carolina Clawhammer" (10:45 AM - 12:15 PM) Tunes and techniques of famous North Carolina banjo players.
-"There are Places Other than Mt. Airy in North Carolina" (1:45 Ð 3:15 PM) Tunes from both black and white banjoists of the North Carolina Piedmont and Western Mountains.
-"Freedom from Tablature" (3:30 - 5 PM) How to learn tunes and develop arrangements.

DAN LEVENSON
 
Dan Levenson, a long time member of the Boiled Buzzards String Band, plays old- time music on fiddle and guitar, as well as banjo. He has numerous recordings, instruction books and videos to his credit.

Dan's classes are:
-"Find the Tune and Interpret the Tab" (10:45 AM - 12:15 PM) Learn to hear what you want to play and how to work from written sources.
-"De-Velopement of Style" (1:45 - 3:15 PM) Learn to incorporate your musical ideas into your own sound.
-"Singing with the Banjo" (3:30 - 5 PM)

MARY McCASLIN
 
Mary McCaslin has always had unusual ideas for what constitutes a "Banjo Song." Her clawhammer renditions of "Bei Mir Bist Du Schoen", the BeatlesÕ "Blackbird" and the WhoÕs "Pinball Wizard" are classics.

Mary's class:
-"Beginning Clawhammer Banjo" (9 - 10:30 AM) Basic technique, tunings and easy tunes.
